In the beginning of XX century, the society from Sintra would go to the beach by tram. This old tram has been renovated and it is still a running between Sintra and Praia da Maças.
We are going to take this tram to helps reaching Cabo da Roca.
We are going to take this old tram between Sintra and Colares and then go for a 3 hours hike that will bring us to Cabo da Roca – the western most point of continental Europe.
It is not a difficult hike, but we will have to go up and down. We will walk for about 9 kms between the village of Colares and Cabo da Roca.
On the way back we will take a bus to Cascais and then the train again to Lisboa (Cais do Sodré).
I am expecting to be back in Lisbon around 8:30 pm.
Make sure that you arrive to the train station with your zapping card charged with at least 3,90€. Otherwise please arrive some minutes ahead.
If it is more convenient for you, you can meet us directly in Sintra.
We will arrive to “Portela de Sintra” (the second last station) at 14:38, you can wait for us there is that is more convinient for you.
Lets go to explore Cabo da Roca.
