This is a hike in which we are going to explore the valleys of Mafra.
We will start in Mafra, right in front of the great Mafra Palace. Then we will walk until a traditional pottery place – José Franco Museum Village, which is located between Mafra and Ericeira.
José Franco was a potter who create in his house a small “village” reassembling the traditional countryside’s live in Portugal from meddle XX century.
It is also a wonderful place to buy traditional products like, cheese, ‘pão com chourico’ and cakes.
In the hike we will first walk in the urban areas of Mafra, and then dive into a peaceful green valley, where we will fell like being in the countryside. We’ll walk for about 3 hours / 8 km.
Then we’ll return to Lisbon, Campo-Grande, by bus. I am expecting to be back in Lisbon, Campo Grande around at 19:30.
We are going to travel by bus. Tickets are bought from the driver.
If it is more convenient for you, you can meet us directly at José Franco’s Potary.
Lets go to Mafra.
